Who we are and why we want to work with YOU
We’re a new non-profit organization focused on preventing long-term widespread power outages.
Regarding this issue, we’re not:
Republicans or Democrats,
hawks or doves,
survivalists or fatalists,
paranoid or hysterical,
technical or security experts,
government or utility representatives.
But we see a threat to our country that could be worse than Covid-19 or 9/11.
Our government isn’t protecting us against it. Not because they’re bad people.
Rather, they’re acting like generals preparing to fight the last war.
We don’t want to be victims of foreign aggression or technical glitches or natural forces.
We don’t want to be forced to flee or defend our homes for months in order to survive.
We don’t want our family, friends and neighbors to be deprived of the food, water, sanitation, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, communication, and other critical infrastructure all our lives depend on.
In other words, we’re just like most Americans.
Experts have warned about the dangers for decades.
As with 9/11 and Covid-19, members of the U.S. intelligence, defense, homeland security, legislative and regulatory communities have gotten bogged down in gridlock at the Federal level.
In order for people like us to make a difference, we want to take a completely different approach: to mobilize ordinary citizens to become active at the state and local level to “stop the next one.”
And although this is a deadly serious matter, we’d like to enjoy working together, and maybe even have some fun while we’re at it..
We intend to take a collaborative approach to solving this problem with people of diverse backgrounds, responsibilities and points of view.
