Set standards of protection
Currently there are no established standards for protection against the multiple threats that microgrids face from:
EMP
Solar mass ejections
Cyberattacks
Physical attacks
Mismanagement of the macrogrid
Insufficient storage capacity
Activists and community leaders need to know what it takes to protect their communities’ microgrids. As a non-profit, we can serve as a credible, impartial source for information and the establishment of standards for such protection.
Identify where they’re going and if they’ll be protected
New microgrids can be protected faster, easier and less expensively than the national grid
Many microgrids are being built now and many more will be built in the future.
These projects can be overseen at the local level
We need help identifying projects in the planning stage so we can inform concerned members of the community who can influence local leaders about the opportunity to protect these projects effectively and affordably before it’s too late.
We plan to create an open database of such projects for public reference.
